The National Three Peaks Challenge

Snowdon & the Pyg Track
The most well known of the Three Peaks is the National Three Peaks Challenge. This challenge involves climbing the highest peaks of Scotland (Ben Nevis), England (Scafell Pike), and Wales (Snowdon), usually within a 24 hour period.
Starting from Fort William in Scotland, or from Llanberis in Wales, teams also have the challenge of transporting themselves some 450 miles to the remaining two peaks.

The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge

Top of Ingleborough
Perhaps lesser known, but just as popular, is the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge, a circular route starting and finishing at Horton-In-Ribblesdale, north Yorkshire.
This 25 mile route visits the summits of Pen-Y-Ghent, Whernside, and Ingleborough, and is often attempted within a 12 hour period. This challenge makes great training for the larger national Three Peaks Challenge.
